Called Meeting for Synod’s Executive Board

ARP SealModerator Jamie Hunt has called a meeting of Synod’s Executive Board, Monday, July 13, at 9:00 AM (Eastern Time) for the purpose of hearing from Synod’s legal counsel regarding a response to the US Supreme Court’s ruling on same sex marriage.  The meeting will be conducted by conference call, and information is being sent to members of the board.

Moderator Hunt requests that you pray for this meeting and ask God’s wisdom for the members of the Executive Board as they consider this matter.

Women’s Ministries 101st Annual Meeting

Make plans now to join Women’s Ministries on July 27, 2015 at 1pm in The Patrick Room, Bonclarken Conference Center. Guest speaker will be Suzanne Matthews who will lead us in applying lessons from Joshua to turning points in our own lives. She will challenge each of us to be strong and courageous women, with God’s guidance and help, while beginning another century of women’s ministries. Child care will be provided for children under the age of 10. Make plans now to attend!

Bonclarken Conference Center, Inc. is the conference center of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. As a 501(c)(3) ministry, our mission is to “provide and promote a Christian environment for inspiration and renewal.” Located in Flat Rock, NC, we provide facilities for worship, education, fellowship, and recreation for Christian and educational groups on a year-round basis.

Qualifications: The Director of Facilities Maintenance should have at least five years of supervisory experience in the area of facilities maintenance. This position reports directly to our Vice President for Finance and Facilities. Qualifications of the applicant will include, but are not limited to:

  • An evangelical Christian who has made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
  • Demonstrated commitment and passion for the mission of Bonclarken.
  • Manage the operation of facilities, including preventative maintenance and life safety.
  • Possess high working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, small engine repair, and carpentry.
  • Collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality.
  • Effective communicator with strong oral, written, and computer skills.
  • Willingness to live on the grounds of Bonclarken in a Bonclarken-provided home.
  • Ensure a safe, comfortable, and pleasing environment for all guests, staff, and volunteers.
