Texas Updates

Continue to pray for Rev. Robert Ferguson, Faith Fellowship in Houston, Texas, as his house along with an Elder from the church’s house had major flooding.

I spoke with Rev. Jan Sattem, Good Shepherd ARPC in League City, Texas, yesterday. They didn’t have any damage to their home but couldn’t get out of their neighborhood due to flooding. It was the first time he didn’t have a church service in 35 years. They had 54 inches of rain in two days. Jan was thankful for a connected denomination. He had received many phone calls from folks getting an update on their status.

Sattem said it is great to see how hurricanes “knock down fences.” Not just real fences but the barriers that people put up on a day to day basis. When the power is out, neighbors get to know neighbors. They pull food from their fridge to put on another neighbor’s grill and do what they can to help each other.
