We hope you will enjoy this issue and will share with your friends and family. The cover photo, Reflections, was taken by a teen from Unity ARP Church (SC). You can read more about it on page 30. There are many wonderful things packed into this issue such as the Moderator’s Challenge, the Synod Emphasis by Rev. James McManus and Women’s Ministries.

Be sure to look for the Moderator’s lapel pin that is hidden in the magazine. You can read more about it on page 25.

Andrew Brunson has now been wrongly detained 136 days in a Turkish prison. We know President Trump spoke with the President of Turkey by phone recently. Members of the U.S. House and Senate have written letters to President Erdogan, asking for Andrew’s prompt release. Yet Turkey has shown no willingness to budge.
The letter being sent from Congress makes it clear that Andrew is innocent. What we would really like President Trump to say to the President of Turkey is:  If you want improved relations with the U.S., release Andrew Brunson first.

By March 8, we want to reach 100,000 signatures for the White House petition calling for Andrew’s release. If you have not already signed, please do so and share this link with others: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/forgotten-american-turkey or https://tiny.cc/andrew3. You are encouraged to share info about Andrew on Twitter – #ForgottenAmericaninTurkey#freeAndrewBrunson#SaveBrunson.

Those willing to phone, mail or email the White House to ask for Andrew’s release are encouraged to do so. Increased visibility generally translates into increased response in situations like this. Please continue to pray for Andrew, Norine, their children, the 18 devout Muslims in the cell with Andrew, and for Turkey. Thank you for standing faithfully with Andrew and his family, through your petitioning and your prayers.
