Rev. Heiko Burklin to Join World Witness Staff
Finding a person who is qualified to pastor, recruit and train missionaries, who has missions experience, understands the ARP denomination, can be a confidant for the director and has a servant’s heart, would seem impossible. Such a person, however, would move a mission organization to the next level. We believe the Lord has shown us this person in Rev. Heiko Burklin, who will join World Witness as Mission Developer, in July 2015.
Heiko completed a B.A. at Taylor University, acquired a M.Div. and D.Min. at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, served at two ARP churches for a total of 15 years, and is a veteran missionary of World Witness, having served over a decade in Berlin. He has celebrated 30 years of marriage with his wife, Kay, who is Director of Mercy Ministries for Mission to the World (the PCA mission agency). They have three sons – Stephan, Yannik and Micah. In recent years, Heiko and Kay have donated their time to pastoral-care ministry for a number of World Witness missionaries. Kay has generously accepted our request to aid Heiko in some of this pastoral-care work.
Heiko comes to World Witness from Neely’s Creek ARP, where he successfully served 6 years as senior pastor. Please pray for Neely’s Creek during this difficult time of releasing Heiko and for the Burklin family, as they make preparations to move to Greenville, SC.
