ARP News Update

Wednesday Update From General Synod

IMG_8073The morning session began with Psalm singing led by the RPCNA. The joint worship was by RPCNA delegate, Rev. Rick Gamble. Gamble tells us to “praise the good and punish the evil. The church has an important role to be certain what is good and what is evil.”

The business session began with Moderator Hunt providing two books by Joel Beeke as a gift to all participating in the morning worship time. (Developing Healthy Spiritual Growth and Encouragement for Today’s Pastors)

Paul Patrick shared an Erskine Campus Ministry/RUF reunion video followed by a time of prayer for Adam Lynn, a former Erskine student who is recovering from a severe brain injury just two weeks ago. Alex Pettett, Executive Director of World Witness, was able to give a brief report of their strategic future plans. Wes Spring, Chairman of Outreach North America, asked the floor of Synod challenging questions. “If your church closes today, would people miss it? What way can you reach the unreached in your community?”

Business moved on through each agency and board. Dr. Kooistra, President of Erskine College, had a chance to address the floor of Synod to share his primary focus and goals.

Rev. Andrew Shoger led the evening worship session from 2 Timothy 4. “God’s grace is sufficient for you. It is made perfect in our weakness. We need to declare the gospel and preach the word in all seasons.”

Joint Presentations
