To the Ends of the Earth – TOGETHER
January – Bonclarken Conference Center

This month our focus is on Bonclarken Conference Center – that place in the Blue Ridge Mountains that we all love to visit (and some love it so much that they live there!).  We thank the Lord for our friend Chip Sherer, the President of Bonclarken, and the staff he has assembled, and the efforts they make to ensure every event hosted there runs smoothly.

PRAYER CONCERNS

  • Remember Rev. Benjamin Glaser, minister at Bethany ARP Church in Clover, SC at the passing of his mother, Joanne Glaser, on January 4, 2025
  • Continue to pray for continuing relief efforts in Western North Carolina and in central Florida due to the effects of hurricanes Helene and Milton
  • Praise the Lord for a successful trip to Rwanda for a group who attended the first graduation ceremony for those who completed the Global Diploma in Theology and Christian Leadership program (photo below). This is a joint project between World Witness and Erskine Seminary. Those who participated in this trip were: Lee Shelnutt, Justin Brickey, David Galetta, Kyle Sims, Sam and Martha Margaret Cotten, and Alan Broyles.
  • Pray for the Synod Planning Committee as their work has begun in anticipation of the 2025 Synod meeting, which will be held on June 10-12, 2025
  • Pray for the situation in the Los Angeles area as wildfires devastate Southern California. The following comment comes from Rev. Brooks Pipher, pastor of Covenant ARP Church in Burbank, CA:

Life has changed in Los Angeles. People have been shaken. Housing and work has disappeared for many overnight. Housing prices and rent prices are set to skyrocket as people seek new places to live. Please pray for us and our city. Pray for gospel opportunities in the midst of this — very grateful that the church is called ‘Covenant’.

It is my hope that this short note will be useful to you in some way, and I believe asking you for your prayers and consideration will be helpful to all of us as we move through the year.   As we approach Easter, let us remember to thank Almighty God for raising His Son from the dead so that we might live with Him for eternity.

Grace and peace to you and yours,

Alan J Broyles
