Women’s Ministries from Edgemont ARP Church in Virginia regularly puts together bags for the sick and shut-ins of the church. Last year they began reaching out to groups in the community. They have recognized teachers, law enforcement, and then most recently the nurses at the local hospital. Various women of the church purchased 50 items of one thing and some gave monetary donations. They ended up filling 50 bags with a highlighter, an ink pen, lifesavers, peppermint, chocolate candy, instant oatmeal packets, chapstick, scripture tissue packs, cookie packs, cracker packs, and more. One Sunday the women bagged it all up ready to be delivered and distributed by one of their ladies who is a nurse there.
Dawn Lewis says, “We pray our efforts not only brightens their day but shows our love for them and their work. The pandemic has slowed us down as far as meetings, social gatherings, etc. but we are finding ways to continue outreach.”
