Please be in prayer for Reverend Matt Joldersma, pastor of Neely’s Creek ARP Church, and his family. His wife Candy was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. The information below was sent out through Catawba Presbytery by the church session. Please pray for them during this time but also respect their request for privacy. From the Neely’s Creek Session:
The Session at Neely’s Creek ARP was informed by Matt Joldersma that after meeting with his dear wife Candy’s medical team this morning, her medical condition is inoperable and medically untreatable.
Candy has been in the hospital since Monday, but she is being discharged today so that she can be brought home. Hospice will be brought in to make her as comfortable as possible.
Matt conveyed that it’s not expected to be more than a few weeks until our Lord calls her home.
Please pray for the family, for Candy to be comfortable, free of pain and strong in her ever present faith in God. Matt also asked for privacy as they desire to make the most of these last days with Candy.
Session has given Matt an indefinite paid leave of absence as we want him to focus on his wife and family. Fortunately, God prepared the church for this due to the sabbatical Matt took last year.
