Beard Family Update
We thank the Lord that Josiah is stable. Because he is so premature, his lungs are not highly developed, so he requires much support and is very fragile. That being said, our God and the skilled NICU doctors and nurses of West Penn Hospital, are keeping Josiah stable and doing as well as possible at this point, for which we give thanks. His heartbeat, oxygen levels, and blood pressure have been good. He is supported by an oscillating ventilator, plus nitrous oxide, to help his breathing and lungs. Praise God that they are only supporting him 35%, which means that his body is doing the rest.
They are doing a blood transfusion for him soon because they have to take blood from him regularly to test it, therefore, he needs more blood.
Thank you for your prayers for Josiah. Thank you for your prayers and support to Kelly and me through this whirlwind. We are truly appreciative of each one of you. We give thanks to God, our Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, our gracious Triune God, for His love, mercy, power, and presence.
Kelly is scheduled to probably be discharged from the hospital tomorrow (Tuesday) sometime. We plan to spend some time resting at home but also we, of course, will spend a lot of time at the NICU to be here for Josiah.
We love you all, in Christ Jesus, our living and reigning Savior,
Nathan and Kelly
P.S. The name Josiah is Hebrew for “Healed by the LORD (Yahweh/Jehovah)” or “The LORD helps/supports”. We truly pray that the Lord fulfills the meaning of this name in Josiah’s life here on earth.
