Presbytery Updates

First Presbytery

First Presbytery was hosted by Coddle Creek ARP Church. Moderator Rev. Phillip Mayberry constituted the meeting with prayer. Rev. Brian Wood preached from Psalm 101 for the morning worship, after which the court sang “Crown Him With Many Crowns.” Moderator Mayberry led the court in a season of prayer for needs in the presbytery.

 

Tennessee Alabama Presbytery

Tennessee Alabama Presbytery met at Bethel ARP Church in Oak Hill, AL.

 

Catawba Presbytery

Catawba Presbytery was hosted by Bethany ARP Church in Clover, SC. Presbytery approved the first church plant in Lexington County as proposed by the First Columbia and Grace ARPC Church Planting Committee. They approved changing IBL’s status from Special Ministry back to a Mission Church. Barry Dagenhart and Marty Taylor were officially recognized at their retirement. Elijah Hoyer came under care as a student of theology. Greg Delleney and Andrew George were presented with a Certificate of Licensure by the moderator.

 

Northeast Presbytery

The Northeast Presbytery met at the Presbyterian Church of the Atonement in Silver Spring, MD. The Rev. Jack Van Dyk served as the Moderator for the meeting. The Rev. Eunseong Seo, a member of the Presbyterian Church of Korea, was approved to serve as a pulpit supply at the Hyo Shin Bible Presbyterian Church, Flushing, NYC, NY, to assist Senior Pastor Kyung Sun Kim in sunrise and other weekday preaching duties. The Outreach Northeast Team reported they are still seeking a church planting candidate for the areas of Washington, DC, and Pittsburgh, PA metropolitan regions.

 

Mississippi Valley Presbytery

Mississippi Valley Presbytery held its spring meeting at French Camp Presbyterian Church. They received Friend of Sinners Reformed Church in Everson, Washington, into the Presbytery. Received the transfer of ministers David Huang, Dean Rydbeck, Timothy Wohlers, Steve Woods, and David Winburne from Catawba Presbytery. Examined and approved the transfer of Rev. David Stark of Redding, California, as a minister.

 

Second Presbytery

Second Presbytery held its spring meeting at Newberry ARP Church.

 

Canada Presbytery

Student under Care, Mr. Jason Tucker and the Rev. John Shearouse who introduced him to the Presbytery. Mr. Jason Tucker preached his junior sermon, which was sustained.
