Retired minister Rev. Clyde Reed met his Heavenly Father Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
Prior to entering the ministry Rev. Reed attended McGill University in Quebec Canada where he met his devoted wife Ann. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Rev. Reed earned his Master of Divinity at Knox College in Toronto Canada. Early in his career he pastored churches in Canada and NY.
In 1976, the Reeds began laboring for God’s glory in ARP churches in NC, GA, MD, and AZ until his retirement in 2015 after the landmark Supreme Court decision Reed v. Town of Gilbert, which decided 9-0 churches should be able to communicate to the public on the same terms as other organizations, political parties, or businesses.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Ann Reed.
Rev. Reed is survived by his adult children Joel Reed (Elaine), Rev Wayne Reed (Debbie), Paula Osterhoudt (Kris), five adult grandchildren Dale Reed (Lisa), Rev. Dan Reed (Christine), Ryan Reed (Katie), Robert Reed, Callia Sykes (Dashawn), nine great grandchildren, and many friends in the churches they planted throughout the years.
In honor of his service to the Lord the following services are available for friends and family to attend.
Sat, 8/8, at 10:00 AM there will be a memorial service at Grace Covenant Church 1255 N Greenfield Road, Gilbert, AZ 85234.
Sun, 8/9, at 2:00 PM there will be an informal service at Clarendale of Chandler 5900 S. Gilbert Road, Chandler, AZ 85249.

Clyde with one of the finest Christian pastors that I met in my journey in the ARP CHURCH ! Claude had the gift of encouragement and was a godly man who cared that everyone might know Jesus Christ, our savior Lord and become his disciple. My life was blessed by my relationship with Clyde and I pray God will wrap his hands around your family and encourage you greatly by having experienced such a great leader.
