Reverend Jan Senneker

Reverend Jan Senneker won the victory over death through Jesus Christ at 5:55am on Friday, May 28th!

Jan’s life was dedicated to His Lord and Savior, since the age of 20. Jan, along with his wife, Ruth, served the Lord humbly in full-time ministry work. They were Missionaries in Australia for 5 years and Jan served as Pastor to over 20 churches in the United States. Jan first loved the Lord with all his heart and secondly, loved others. His compassion, wisdom, and love that poured out on those around him, was evidence of Christ’s light in his life. His desire was that everyone would know his Savior. Not to just know of Him, but to truly know Him and have a personal relationship with the Lord.

Jan had so many Scriptures and hymns imprinted on his heart that flowed out of his mouth by memory. One of his recent favorite Scriptures was from 2 Timothy 1:12b – “Because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.” Jan constantly said that the key to a joyful life was to give God thanks in all circumstances. He was always positive, his life was consistent, and he had hope for every moment that the Lord gave him. He gave the Lord credit for everything in his life, always stating “it is only by the Grace of God”.

He leaves behind two daughters: Linda Butler (and son-in-law, Don) of Pine Mountain, GA and Valerie Wingo of Hamilton, GA. His beloved grandchildren, Brett (and Alyse) Butler, Mandy (and Zach) Morgan, Harlie (and Charley) Hardage, and Grace Wingo. His beloved greatgrandchildren, Elsa Ruth Hardage and Noah Maddux Morgan. He also leaves behind one sister, Jenny DeWolde and his four brothers, George Senneker, John Senneker, Ben (and Henny) Senneker, Henry (and Sharon) Senneker, and a brother-in-law, Lou Keegstra, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his faithful wife of 57 years, Ruth Baas Senneker. Also, by his son, Daniel and daughter, Judith; his sister, Audrey Keegstra, his brother-in-law, Ralph DeWolde, sister-in-laws, Jean Senneker and Ann Senneker. Along with his parents, Durk and Helen Senneker.

A victory celebration service for Pastor Jan Senneker will be 5:00pm, Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Neely’s Creek ARP Church, 974 Neelys Creek Road, Rock Hill with the Rev. Matt Joldersma and Rev. Don Butler, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:30-4:30pm at the Church, prior to the Service. Afterwards, the family will have a private graveside service officiated by Rev. Heiko Burklin.
