During Family Bible Conference at Bonclarken Conference Center, Women’s Ministries hosts a Silver Tea in Synodical Hall to raise money for the building upkeep. Today the women would have hosted the Silver Tea.
What is Synodical Hall?
Synodical Hall is the building built and owned by the women of the ARP Church. The desire was born in the early 1960s and in 1963 two lots were purchased and an initial gift of $5000 began the building fund. Money continued to be collected including through Silver Teas until 1967 when, with $25,827.69 in hand, building was begun. The building was completed and dedicated August 4, 1970.
As women’s ministries was known as Woman’s Synodical Union at that time, the building was named Synodical Hall. The building serves as a meeting place for Board meetings and other women’s events. It is also used by many other groups meeting at Bonclarken. The building also houses the Historical Library with copies of church and Presbyterial histories.
What is the Silver Tea?
The Silver Tea is held each year during Family Bible Conference on a rotating schedule with ARP Women’s Ministries Presbyterials serving as hosts. The money donated is used for the upkeep of Synodical Hall. The Tea is a great time of fellowship with finger foods and punch.
