Love Your Church
For the month of February, I will share several videos of various ministries, prayer requests, and praise reports at churches. I would love to hear from you about what is happening at your church. Why do you love your church? What is one ministry that you are so excited to be a part of? As a lifelong ARP, I love this denomination and I love my job. I get to share with others how God is at work in this denomination. I look forward to hearing from you! Email, call, or text. (stanner@arpsynod.org, 864-906-2002)
Prayer Request
Please be in prayer for Retired ARP Minister, Bill Harris, from Virginia Presbytery. He sent this email.
Last fall, I began to have symptoms, which were diagnosed at the University of Virginia Hospital, as porocarcinoma. I received 20 radiation treatments and following another PET scan, it was discovered that I have more cancer cells in additional locations in my body. On Monday, January 27th I will begin receiving chemotherapy infusions with the goal of eliminating the cancer cells.
Please invite members of our General Synod to continue joining with me and my family in prayer as I begin receiving chemotherapy seeking to annihilate the porocarcinoma cancer cells in my body. Pray that our loving God will implement His will on the road ahead. We know that God never leaves or forsakes us and is our ever-present help in times of trouble. We hold to the promise of Jesus in John 14, “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am you will be also.” We are praying that God will continue to give me and my family the opportunity to serve Him here on earth through His sovereign plan.
