Beloved Fathers and Brothers,
First thank you for your steadfast prayer and many words of encouragement and expressions of kindness for me and for our family and for the Pottsville congregation during this season of sickness.
I have completed my fourth round of chemo and one round of immunotherapy. I have had few significant side effects and have been able to continue work thus far, though with some fatigue.
You have been praying for my ability to eat and the Lord has granted that. I have maintained my weight for the past four weeks with no additional weight loss and I have been able to eat without nausea.
You have also been praying that my neutrophil (white blood count) levels would maintain sufficient levels to receive chemo. The last two treatments my levels have been good and this past treatment my neutrophils were in a normal range.
You have been praying that I would continue to have strength and that the side effects of chemo would be minimal and so far that has been the case.
Please pray for my upcoming CT scans on Thursday, July 16, 2026 to check progress and assess next steps in my treatment. Pray that the Lord will have reduced the cancer to the point where it is out of my lymph nodes and reduced in my stomach and esophagus such that I will not need surgery.
Please pray for my family as well. Though I seem to be doing well with treatment, scans are times of situational uncertainty. What is not uncertain, however, is the faithfulness of our God.

Beloved friends, I heard from the hospital today that the CT Scanner is down. So my CT Scan is postponed until Monday, July 20. Thank you for praying for me and my family and our congregation.
