Pray for my upcoming chemo today, August 10. Following that treatment I will have a PET scan on Monday, August 17 followed that same day with a surgery consultation with a thoracic oncology surgeon at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science Hospital.. At that point we will determine the next steps in my treatment.
I have been handling chemo and immunotherapy well with few significant side effects. My recent CT scan showed a 20% reduction in the mass in my stomach. Additionally, the cancer in the lymph nodes outside my stomach has shrunk, significantly, but is not yet gone. My oncologist was encouraged by the CT results.
Please pray for the effectiveness of my upcoming treatments and for wisdom regarding my upcoming consultation with the thoracic surgeon. Also pray for strength. I have noticed that as chemo progresses so does my fatigue. And please pray for my wife Melanie, my children, my congregation, and my community as they care for me. I am thankful for your prayers, encouragement, kindness, and generous support.
