“This is the worst we’ve ever seen.” Pastor Ahmet has witnessed civil war, multiple natural disasters, earthquakes, and refugee crises. Yet his words accurately describe what has happened this week after the devastating earthquakes in southeast Turkey. Whole villages are demolished, people are missing, and the death toll will only continue to rise as the days go by and the weather worsens.
“I am so thankful God put you in my life. I wish God had brought you to me earlier and to my village.” A young Kurdish believer from near the epicenter told me in tears as he prayed for his own community to find the same peace that he has found in Jesus.
The churches in southeast Turkey are once again mobilizing to meet the practical needs of a community in crisis. They desperately need tents, blankets, clothes, and food to meet the massive needs. These are the same churches we have known and which – through your prayers and support – we have partnered with for over a decade.
Please pray and consider giving to help meet this critical need.
