Celebrating the Resurrection!

As Easter approaches, it is essential that each of us who claim to be Christians take the time to reflect on the meaning of the resurrection.  I believe that Jesus being raised from the dead is the single most important event in the history of humanity.

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:12-14, “Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?  But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.  And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.”

The resurrection of Jesus is the most debated, investigated, researched, and contentious event in recorded history.  But whatever conclusion you may come to, remember that one day we will know with absolute certainty whether or not “our faith is in vain”.  Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”  So even though we have never “seen” the resurrected Jesus, we have the “assurance” that He is indeed risen, and we therefore have hope of living in eternity with Him.

Prayer concerns:

  • Please begin to pray for the various camps, conferences, and retreats that will begin soon; in particular, pray for Horizon, Quest, and the Appalachia missions trip which are all coming up in June & July.
  • Pray for the Synod Planning Committee as their work has begun in anticipation of the 2025 Synod meeting, which will be held on June 10-12, 2025.
  • Please pray for the work of World Witness and Outreach North America as they continue to develop and implement programs to take the gospel to the ends of the earth

It is my hope that this short note will be useful to you in some way, and I believe asking you for your prayers will be helpful to all of us as we move through the year.   As we approach Easter, let us remember to thank Almighty God for raising His Son from the dead so that we might live with Him for eternity.

Grace and peace to you and yours,

  1. I am down at the beach with my family, and this is a wonderful reminder for me to take time to pray for ARP, church, for you as our leader, and for the events that you mentioned. Thank you for being a man of prayer!

    1. To whom it may concern. I am in prayer for synod but I would like you’ll to have a message to retired ministers who would like to have a church that is small in number but in great need of a great messinger for our Lord. We at Pressly Memorial in Red Level AI have been without a full time minister for quite some time and have found that most ministers need a larger church in order to support a family. If there is anyone that would like or have need to continue working for the Lord we would be greatly appreciative if they would consider even a part time ministery . I am sure there are other churches that are in the same position as us. Any encouragement you might be able to give for small churches everywhere would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your concern. Josie Pearson Williams
