We continue to get reports of damage following Hurricane Helene.
The Good Samaritan Fund has been set up with an online giving link for Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief. You may click here to give online or mail a check to the ARP Center, 918 S. Pleasantburg Dr., Ste. 127, Greenville, SC 29607. Be sure to include Hurricane Helene in the memo.
Report from First Presbytery:
The flooding and wind damage from Hurricane Helene have devastated parts of First Presbytery in Western North Carolina. Hendersonville and Flat Rock are without electricity, but also water, and gasoline is hard to come by. We have ministers who have trees down on their homes, but they and their families are safe. Many congregational members have storm damages. However, Asheville and Boone have fared far worse. We still have yet to hear from several ministers due to cellular towers being washed out.
The media has not reported much detail of the severity of the flooding in Asheville to Boone regions. However, videos from social media are startling. Please pray for our ARP congregations in Western North Carolina that the LORD will restore and care for them in the aftermath of the storm, but also that He will open opportunities for ministry! “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91.1-2
Rev. Nathan M. Frazier, PhD., Moderator, First Presbytery

So glad no one got hurt and I know God and Chip will put it back together
Does the Good Samaritan fund provide help for our Western NC churches, pastors, and congregational members? Or does it also go to Erskine and Bonclarken?
Great question. The Good Samaritan executive members will make a decision on dividing the money as needed to ARP churches and agencies in the denomination. From what I can tell Erskine has trees down which can be cleared. They will wait a couple months for all reports to come in before dispersing the funds.
