First Presbytery Moderator, Nathan Frazier, is the acting point person for the Western North Carolina churches. They are in the process of sending gas and water supplies to the churches in Hendersonville and Flat Rock.
City Church of Asheville, NC
Rev. Duff James said they didn’t have any damage to its worship and office space. The office has power so they are able to disperse supplies from that location. The Clerk of Session is making daily trips to Greenville to get truckloads of items such as water, canned goods, and other nonperishable items. They are predicting it may be many weeks before water returns.
Reformation ARP Church in Hendersonville, NC
Rev. Matt Lucas says the people are physically okay at the church. Two church members lost their businesses. One was washed away and the other was a manufacturing plant that sustained flooding so they lost equipment. There are trees on houses. Not all are without water and power. They have been handing out supplies from the church. Gas is in short supply along with groceries. Communication has been a challenge with the cell service.
Pinecrest Presbyterian Church in Flat Rock, NC
I have reached out to Rev. Rhett Carson but have not been able to get through.
